Finite Element Analysis / Finite Element Method is one of the company’s core areas. We use ANSYS, COSMOS and Pro / MECHANICA for performing a FEM simulation. ANSYS is the preferred tool in which we alternate between APDL scripts and the Workbench method according to the nature of the project. FEM simulation is an effective tool for reducing the cost of product development. We use FEM simulation for topology optimization, which is optimization in relation to material selection, material consumption, weight and geometry as well as for strength calculations of everything from individual items to large constructions. FEM simulation is also included in the calculation of natural frequency for different orders and associated vibration situations. In addition, it is a good tool for thermal simulations, which has its practical application at e.g. heat distribution and cooling calculation.
